Why I teach yoga...

I trained as a yoga teacher on the advice of a psychic… I wish that was a joke but it isn’t. I’ve now been practising for over a decade and have always loved the physical practice of yoga and feeling strong in my body. However, it took my 200hr RYT training in 2020 to realise that I’d only scratched the surface of what yoga was, and is.

The philosophy and practice has helped me find balance, offered me a new perspective and purpose in life whilst providing me with insight to navigate what has become a crazy and overwhelming world. As someone whose family was devastated by mental illness, I was determined to find tools outside of modern medicine that could help me navigate the ups and downs of life myself in a grounded way. Yoga has been instrumental in supporting my own mental health and I want to share these practices with others so that they might also find strength and resilience in their own lives.

My yoga training:

My further 100hr training in Yin and Yoga Nidra in 2022 helped me embrace the power of slowing down, regulating the nervous system and working with Traditional Chinese Medicine concepts of acupressure points, meridian lines and energetic blocks. I am passionate about using these practices to help my students build a connection to their bodies, sit with their emotions and find a deep connection to themselves rather than looking externally for answers.

I have taught around the world, including in the UK, Sri Lanka, Costa Rica, Panama, Ibiza, and Portugal, to students of all ages and abilities. I believe in aligning the mind, body, and soul in my classes, so you can expect a mindful practice that combines a deep awareness of the body, thoughtful quotes and philosophy, complete acceptance of all bodies, and a carefully curated playlist that will leave you asking for my Spotify link at the end of class!

As well as teaching Vinyasa, Yin & Yoga Nidra classes, I often combine my life coaching with yoga to lead in person workshops and events. I am available to support corporate clients with their wellness offerings, either as a wellness consultant curating events and programs or by providing yoga and meditation classes, both in person and online.
